Suitably Sixties I.C.E.

When I'm on a car journey I love some tunes, so when I was thinking about adding some "mod cons" to Candice Marie, my Morris Minor, a speaker I could use to play music from my phone was high on the list. One of my "things" with the car is that I want everything in it to look suitably of the time; it's a '66 model so anything that fits with the late 60s - early 70s.

I thought about doing something with subtle hidden speakers and bluetooth, or a modern retro-style radio (I bought a Goodmans "Oxford" radio from B&M which was initially destined for the car but now lives on a living room shelf).

This is a product photo, but it's what mine looks like - it's a copy of the old Bush TR130

Then one day, on my lunch break, I was browsing the charity shops and second hand stores in town, as is my wont, and I found an old Roberts R600 radio in the Cancer Research shop for the princely sum of £5.00. It was labelled as "display only" as they weren't sure it worked, and sure enough it didn't. But I don't need it to work. I have a plan.

Charity shop success!

A bit more about the R600 (and my one)
